Swinger Chic!

The evening dance on Saturday, April 10th is themed Swinger Chic!
You are encouraged to dress like the original "swingers", when that sort of thing was in vogue. So late 60s, 70s lounge lizard-type style. The gaudier the better.

The inspired person speaks...
"My inspiration was the show Life on Mars, in which they go to a swingers party in the 70s.  Picture lava lamps and hippie buses but a few years later.  Like that particular shade of brown that makes you go "that's from the 70s", lots of man-jewelry, bell bottom pants, large collared shirts, large sunglasses.  Gauche.  For the ladies, I am wearing a polka-dot dress with very large earrings, a mod belt, etc.  I don't want to channel disco, exactly, more middle-class evening wear but tacky."

Competitions

For both competitions...
Sign up on Friday night and Saturday before the end of classes.
There will be no prelims.
Partners will be picked at random.
There will be 2 - 3 songs played.  You will have the same partner for all of the songs.
Your lovely "inspirational coaches" (teachers) will be judging.

Mixed Jack and Jill

A Jack and Jill is a competition in which leads and follows sign up individually.  A lead and a follow is randomly paired and the music is selected at random (so it is not choreographed).  A mixed Jack and Jill is an opportunity for beginner/ intermediate students to pair with advanced students.
It will cost $5 to sign up.
